Prior School Portrait of a Woman, circa 1840- Very nice detail in the dress , lace, and brooch. Woman has ringlets and a wonderful, thoughtful expression. William Jennys (CT/MA) 1798-1808- Pair of Bust length portraits on Gentleman and Wife. Sitters not identified. Both have characteristic Oval Spandrels. Mounted in later molded frames with "William Jennys" nameplates on the bottom.
Condition: This pair of Jennys may be one of the only NON-Relined pair in existence. They are in amazing condition with only very minor retouch.
These paintings have been exhibited all over the country and still maintain the exhibition labels on the back. The exhibitions include the University of Arizona, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, with other labels attached.
